Coupons
A coupon is a single redeemable offer — no collecting required. It's the sharpest tool for turning intent into a first visit.
Settings
- Name / offer — "Free cookie", "15% off your order".
- Kind — a free item or a discount.
- Redemption limit — how many times one customer can use it (usually 1).
- First-visit rule — optionally restrict the coupon to customers who don't already collect at your business. This is what makes a true welcome offer.
- Premises — where it can be redeemed.
How customers get it
Active coupons are visible to customers browsing your business in Sello — including people nearby in Discover who've never visited. A compelling welcome coupon is your Discover storefront.
Redemption at the counter
Same flow as everything in Sello: the customer shows their QR, staff scan it, see the redeemable coupon, and confirm. The redemption limit is enforced automatically — no photocopied-voucher problem.
Three coupons that earn their keep
- The welcome treat — small free item, first visit only. Converts walk-bys into members.
- The slow-day discount — "15% off, Monday–Wednesday". Aim demand where you need it.
- The win-back — a short-lived offer for a season opening or new menu, capped per customer.
Coupons pair beautifully with a stamp card: the coupon starts the relationship, the card sustains it.
